Obituary for James Thomas Metcalf

James Thomas  Metcalf
James Thomas Metcalf, 89, of Aurora peacefully passed away on May 19, 2017. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, generosity and incredible perseverance through many hardships.

Jim was born to Arlando and Lalah Metcalf in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from South High School, he went into the Navy and then went on to graduate from University of Denver with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He married Margaret Jean Oakes on August 4, 1952. Jim spent his 35 year professional career with Stearns Roger working in over 10 countries. He held many key positions including Vice President for Stearns Catalytic.

Jim is preceded in death by Peggy, his loving wife of 49 years. He is survived by his children Elaine K. Hamrick, Nancy M. Smith (Michael), James T. Metcalf Jr. (Sonja) and Dr. Steven J. Metcalf (Valerie). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday June 16th at 1:30 p.m. at the Fairmount Mausoleum Chapel.
