Obituary for George L. Jones

George L. Jones was born December 10, 1947 in Bells, Tennessee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elie and Azalee Ratler. He was one of eight children which consisted of seven boys and one girl, Lydell, Charles, Raymond, Lynn, Emma, James and Dennis who preceded him death.

George attended Bells Elementary School and went on to graduate from Central High School. He later attended college at The Denver Tech. Center. George served his country in the armed forces and was honorably discharged by the Army as a Vietnam Veteran. He married Ruby and fathered two children, George and January Jones. George's second wife Bernice bore him two children, Devon and Akiya Jones.

George went on to meet and fell head over heels in love with Minnie, which resulted in their marriage in 1993. He became the stepfather to Shun and Terrinthian. In total he has six stepchildren and eight grandchildren. Proving that George lived a full and satisfying life.

George enjoyed fishing and especially eating his favorite fried catfish, leaving only the skeleton as evidence that they ever existed on his plate. He also enjoyed lawn work as he had he most well kept and beautiful lawn in the neighborhood. George was never afraid of hard work, and was a joy to work around. His many co-workers will vouch for this well known fact.

George loved the Lord and gave his life to Him. He and his wife Minnie worked diligently with Fig Ministries doing whatever their hands founds necessary to do. He had many friends whom he loved dearly, and was loved by everyone that he came in contact with. George you will be sorely missed.
