Obituary for Maxine M. Lehl

Maxine M.  Lehl
Maxine was born on May 20th, 1925, in Polk, Nebraska, to Arthur and Hattie Branting. The fifith of seven children, Maxine grew up on the family farm outside of North Platte Nebraska. She attended and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in North Platte. Maxine graduated high school in May 1943. After graduation from high school, she worked for the North Platte Daily Telegraph.

At the age of 20, Maxine moved to Denver, Colorado, where she met and married Robert Lehl. She had one step son, Robert Jr., and four children; Jerry, Art, Patricia and Gary.

Maxine worked for FW Woolworth's in Englewood, Colorado for five years, and then for Cahners' Publishing Co for 21 years. She retired in May 1987.

Maxine was a long-time member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Englewood, Colorado, where she contributed many volunteer hours. Maxine and Robert also loved traveling throughout the western United States.

Maxine passed away on November 4th, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1994, and her son Gary Dean, in 1979. Maxine is survived by her brother LeRoy Branting, children Robert Jr., Jerry, Art, and Patricia, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made, in Maxine's name to Agape Hospice (6041 S. Syracuse Way, Suite 220, Greenwood Village, CO 80111).
