Amy’s Life Story

In Loving Memory of Amy Stuart Jacobs

Amy Stuart Jacobs was born on March 9th, 1973 in Portland Oregon. She lived in Oregon with her father John, mother Carol, and brother Toby until she was 9 years old when the family moved to Colorado. They landed in Boulder and shortly thereafter in Louisville where Amy began playing fast pitch softball competitively at the age of 13. She loved pitching and by the time she was 16, she was traveling around the United States playing in tournaments with her father John as her coach.

In her senior year at Boulder High School, she won a State Championship and was voted the MVP. All of Amy’s hard work awarded her a full ride scholarship to play Division I Softball for Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos Texas. Throughout her college career Amy set numerous records at SWT, and enjoyed competing at the highest level for all four years.

Amy and Jerry met through mutual friends in 2001 and were married in Maui, Hawaii in 2004. They spent most of their time working hard, enjoying the outdoors of Colorado and traveling to exotic islands in the Caribbean. Any activity in the mountains, rivers, oceans, lakes or wilderness was fair game for Amy. On September 14th, 2014 Amy gave birth to the highlight of her life, their daughter Hana Lea. Hana was the crown jewel of Amy’s life and she had no bigger passion than caring for and spending time with her.

Amy lost her 3 year and 4 day battle with breast cancer on December 26th, 2017. Amy’s strength, bravery and courage will forever be remembered as she fought this disease. She is survived by her husband Jerry, daughter Hana, mother Carol, brother Toby, sister in law Alison and nephew Taylor. She was preceded in death by her father John.

Celebration of Life services will be held at Quebec Place at Fairmount on January 13th, 2018 at 10am in the Q Chapel.
