Sally Mae Collier, 99, of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully Friday, January 5, 2018.
Born February 17, 1918 in Ripley, Mississippi to the late William Hunter and Mattie Etta Gunn, Sallie was educated in The Ripley, Mississippi Public School System. She later received her GED.
She was a graduate of the Pero Beauty and Beauty College in Indianapolis, Indiana and worked as a beautician there for many years.
She accepted or professed her faith in God and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior at an early age in Jackson, Tennessee.
Her passion was family, church, children’s ministry and helping others. She felt more content when she was cooking and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Her commitment to faith, family and friends were most important in her life. In Denver she was a member of the Zion Temple Pentecostal Apostolic Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Collier; two brothers, William Roosevelt and Samuel Edward Gunn; sister, Melissa Pricilla Williams of Pacoima, California.
She is survived by two sisters, Bertha Hines of Union City, Georgia and Judith Ferguson of Indianapolis, Indiana, 8 nephews, 6 nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
