Condolence: Dear Don:
Thanks you for letting us know about Ruth's peaceful passing and the details of the beautiful service for her at Fairmount Cemetery. In the 72 years that you and I have been friends and career army colleagues, I know how priceless a spouse can be. It is so remarkable that you could experience Ruth's wonderful presence in your life for almost 62 years. Thank you for your generosity in sharing photos and updates on Ruth and your children and grandchildren every Christmas.

Condolence: Dear Don,
Thank you for your kind note telling us of Ruth's passing. She was a great friend when we were living in Okinawa. With you and Larry gone much of the time on one exercise or another, Ruth and I spent a lot of time together over coffee or the bridge table.
I will always remember how kind you both were during one of our strong typhoons when Larry was off island in Taiwan and I was home with baby John. You drove (only a block) to pick us up and take us to your house for the night. The car was bouncing around like a carnival ride, the wind was howling and the rain was driving horizontally. Ruth greeted us enthusiastically, and your house looked warm and inviting with all of the candles glowing because there was no electricity! I always appreciated your hospitality that night. My courage would have been greatly challenged if I had remained home by myself, with the baby, during that storm.
Ruth was a very loving and thoughtful friend. Another time when Larry had been off island for several months running the jungle warfare training, he was gone on my 25th birthday (my goodness how long ago that was!)and Ruth invited me to go out to lunch with her to the Little Club. She steered me into one of the private rooms and there were about 15 or 20 of our good friends shouting "Happy Birthday!" That's the one and only surprise party I ever had.
I know these past years have been heartbreaking for you and your family watching Ruth fade away. I believe she is now at peace. Our love and sympathy is extended to you and your children and grandchildren.

Condolence: My condolences to the Cluxton families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Ruth. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it". Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering. I hope that these scriptures will be of some comfort to you. For more encouragement, please see jw.org
