Obituary for Ruth Masae Ota
Ruth Masae Ota, of Denver, Colorado, died on Saturday, January 13, 2018. She was born on February 16, 1929, in Ola’a, Hawaii to Wataru and Natsuye Kuritani.
She was a 1947 graduate of Denver East High School. She earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music and a Masters of Arts degree in Education from the University of Denver in 1951 and 1953 respectively.
On October 29, 1949, she married Toshio Ota, of Rock Springs, Wyoming. Together they had two sons. She was an educator, medical office manager and aspiring opera singer. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years. She is survived by her loving sons, Kerry (Darla) and Kevin (Kindra); and treasured grandchildren, Mark, Alyssa, Karson and Kieryn.
A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, followed by a Celebration of Life Reception at Quebec Place at Fairmount from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for family and friends. Please join us for the Celebration of Her Life, refreshments and more wonderful memories.
