Jessie passed away Wednesday January 24th, 2018 at the Medical Center of Aurora at the age of 95. Jessie was born to Charles and Janet Fordyce, in Glasgow Scotland. As a young child she moved with her mother, father, and sister to Chicago, Il. Jessie married James Hamilton Weir November 4th, 1944. In 1946 they moved to Aurora, CO, established residence and raised their family. In 1957 her husband James became terminally ill and was hospitalized until his passing in 1965. Jessie was faced with having to raise three children on her own while becoming the main bread winner of the family. Jessie taught herself to type, learned how to drive, and in 1959 she began working for United Airlines in the Purchasing Department until she retired in 1984.. Jessie was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, golf, ceramics, gardening, reading, knitting, and painting. During the Christmas holidays she took great pleasure in baking a large assortment of cookies which she gave as gifts to family and friends. She is survived by her 3 children; Jim, Jean, and Jack, plus 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Fairmount Cemetery, in the Little Ivy Chapel, Friday February 2nd, 1 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the memory of Jessie F. Weir to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
