Obituary for Floyd Norman West

CMSGT Floyd West passed peacefully in his sleep on Oct 1, 2018. Floyd was born on April 19, 1932, in a sod house somewhere between Calhan and Yoder, Colorado. After years on the farm, Floyd enlisted in the USAF and married his youthful sweetheart, Audrey Mayhew. The two of them traveled the world together for 30 years wherever the Air Force took them while raising two sons. After two tours in Asia, one in Europe, and several stops across the US, Floyd rose to the highest enlisted rank before retiring in Denver where he began a second career as a civil servant in the Defense Finance and Accounting Center. He was a faithful husband, patriot, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest legacy and gift to us is his love for Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. That legacy of faith is now lived out through his wife Audrey West; two sons, Jerry and Gary; their wives Sherlyn and Colette; five grandsons, Chad, Preston, Brandon, Aaron, and Jason, and 13 great grandchildren.
